Cantorei

School/Organization:
Laramie County Community College
Conductor:

Cantorei is a student ensemble that is auditioned at LCCC.  The group is select and performs throughout the school year at community events as well as in college performances.  Literature ranges from early music to modern and jazz.  In 2017, Cantorei performed with the Cheyenne Chamber Singers, performing Mid-Winter Songs by Morten Lauridsen and a variety of pieces within the theme of mid-winter.  Cantorei also performed Mahler's Symphony No. 2 "Resurrection Symphony" with the Cheyenne Sympohony Orchestra and the Cheyenne Chamber Singers, UW Collegiate Chorale, UW Singing Statesman, Larimer Chorale, and Capitol Chorale under the direction of Maestro William Intrilligator.

For the 2017-2018 school year, Cantorei will perform in four collegiate concerts.  The choir was also selected to perform with the Choirs of America.  They will be traveling to New York City in April to work with composer Jake Runestad and conductor Anton Armstrong in a final performance at Carnegie Hall.

Auditions for the ensemble will be held prior to each semester at LCCC.  Contact Beth Kean for more information.
